The FHSA Public Affairs Blog focuses on current issues in the South African socio-political landscape. The blog takes a  critical look at the policies, conduct and practice of the country’s decision makers including the general populace, while offering constructive solutions to the issues that affect South Africans daily. Following the landmark democratic elections in 1994, there is a general recognition that South Africa needs to strengthen its democratic institutions. One of these is freedom of speech and the ability to speak truth to power. This blog is our humble attempt at realising this goal while seeking a constructive engagement with those in authority to ensure a prosperous South Africa.
