Kevin Welman and his team welcomed Fleishman-Hillard CEO, Dave Senay, in true African style demonstrating that the team is ready for growth. FHSA is now amongst the top three agencies in South Africa handling blue chip clients. The growth in the office boasts exceptional work that has enabled the office to retain some of these clients for the past few years. This growth is also reflected in the work that FHSA is able to do across the content for clients such as VISA, Nokia and others through our affiliate agencies in Nigeria, Kenya and Egypt.
The team treated Dave to a tour of CIDA City Campus, South Africa’s first virtually free University and FHSA’s Black Economic Empowerment partner, during his visit to Johannesburg. CIDA City Campus offers a Bachelor of Business Administration degree to students from historically disadvantaged communities who ordinarily would not have an opportunity to study for a university degree.
Dave commented “It is very inspiring to be partners with an institution that directly helps to deal with the issues of unemployment and lack of education. Being partners with CIDA, be it through their shareholding in FHSA or our company offering tutoring to students, enables us to contribute meaningfully to the institution and to South Africa.”
Dave was also in town to attend the World Economic Forum. He had this to say: “While the global financial crisis has affected a number of economies, some African countries still registered economic growth, albeit with minimal percentage increases. South Africa, the continent’s largest economy, is leading this charge with a three percent growth rate expected in spite of the current tough economic conditions. FHSA’s cutting edge offering places us in a great position to take advantage of the opportunities that will accrue from this growth!”
